The only advice I can give you is to basically think about the process you use when you do it "by hand".
If you have no idea how matrix multiplication works then you're asking the wrong question.
But assuming you do...
QB allows some nice things that are called Arrays. They're like lists of variables that you tell apart by numbers rather than names.
DIM M(0 to 2) AS INTEGER
FOR X = 0 TO 2
M(X) = X * X
NEXT
Would set M(0) to 0, M(1) to 1 and M(2) to 4.
I'm hoping you already know how to use arrays, because they're going to make using matrices much easier.
Unfortunately my matrix algebra isn't good and I haven't the time to solidify my knowledge, so that's all I can help you with for now. If you explain how matrix multiplication is done then we could further help you.

Matrix multiplication? Bloody Canada, that Algebra III class paid off after all... As I don't have much time to speak (ISP going down for "maintenance" soon), I'll kick out some links. While the stuff loads (dialup args), I'll explain some. Basically, a matrix is a sort of array of numbers, usually 2 x 2 or 3 x 3 (although business applications can go upwards of 20 or more members to a matrix (ie 20 x 2 or whatnot)). Matricies (the proper plural) doesn't have to be square, however it's important that when multiplying, the matricies are represented in a way that the row of one matrix = the column of another: 2 x 3 matrix and a 3 x 4 matrix (can be multiplied) 1 x 2 matrix and a 10 x 4 matrix (can't be multiplied) Note that the # of rows in the first matrix must equal the # of columns in the second matrix. Elsewise, they won't multiply. Also, when multiplying a matrix, you take the first member of the first column and multiply it by the first member of the first column of the second matrix. Then you typically write this down (because you add all this together for each column). Then you take the first number of the first column of the first matrix times the second number of the first column of the second matrix. Repeat as needed. Add together, write that total down as the answer for the first number of the first column of the answer matrix. Repeat on the other columns as needed (complicated, yes). Hopefully I helped. I had an entire month dedicated to this stuff and it still is somewhat confusing (actual stuff isn't difficult, just remembering what rules apply to what situations is hard. Worst is determinants and when you have 3 x 3 matricies or larger). |
