There's a new place opening in Myrtle Point. It's a poetry night club aimed at teens. Sometimes they'll have dance nights.
MY BAND IS THE HOUSE BAND!!!
w00t w00t w00t w00t w00t! It's the ultimate gig! I don't even care if we get paid, it's gonna be awesome!
The best part is, the owner's daughter is one of my good friends. And her mom is further into death metal than I am! I am so [darned] excited that I'm going to explode! In fact,
[make an explosion sound and imagine a 14 year old blowing up]
!!! ;D ;D

We're mostly a cover band right now. I can't get you full band clips, but I can send you some of my own personal guitar stuffs.
We do...
Blues Heavy Metal Soft Rock Hardcore Punk Death Metal Whatever Creedence Clearwater Revival is Whatever Jimmy Buffet is (we've metalized Cheeseburger in Paradise, but can also do it normally).
We can do just about everything. We're a very open minded band, with lots of exposure.
The guitarist(me) likes... Lots of metal Lots of blues Lots of swing Some country Some classical Hardcore Punk Grunge
The drummer(Meaghn) likes... Everything. I mean that sincerely
The bassist(Alessa) likes... Anything that isn't heavy, pretty much
And I'm proud to say, we all hate rap. Can't spell crap without it.

Hah, I'm really curious now! You need to get a cheap recorder and put it on your computer.
Ha, on the rap front thing of it like this: When somthing's over (because it's bad, not really but pretend for the sake of this) they say that's a WRAP, which sounds the same as rap. And so therefore it's bad. When somthing's good people say it rocks. Hmmm I wonder why?
Sorry, offtopic but I couldn't resist.

Okay, I've got a sample. Just of me on guitar, and I've been feeling pretty sick for the past few days, so it's kinda crappy. But there it is.
I found an awesome recorder. Audacity. It's free, and it's awesome.
The first person to name the songs in the demo gets a free t-shirt. I think. If I can find a t-shirt and afford the postage...

Really..?
After relistening to it I noticed it. It's a tad staticy though, not to bad. I'm really interested in hearing more, either the whole band or just you. I think it's cool knowing whose playing, and if you guys get big I can say I know you.

Yeah. It'd be cool. I love to meet people who are interested in us.
My whole thing is entertaining people. Look at the list of musical instruments I play. Being a musician is my entire life. And think of this... I'm only 14 years old! Jeez! You just heard me after having picked it up for 7 months and having the flu really bad. I could barely move my fingers! I'll have to send you a clip of something when I'm feeling better.
My cousins in Portland are also great musicians. I stayed with them for a week this summer, and we went to EMP in Seattle, WA. If you ever go to Seattle, make sure to stop by. It's across the street from the Space Needle. It's the rock'n'roll museum.
Anyway, I was going to say that the band I'm in with my cousins (3 Musicians and Will. Will is the singer) actually attracted a crowd. (There were jam stations with guitars and basses and drum kits.) People actually clapped and started singing along. That must have been the best feeling I've ever had in my life. I was putting my heart out there, and people loved it!
Oh, and to address the static. I'm running this through 4 different adapters just to get it into the computer, and factor in the 20 feet of cable. I don't have any very good "click/pop" removal tools for Audacity yet, though I'm hoping to download some plug-ins tonight.

Impressive. Very impressive.
I only play one instrument, (the violin) and I'm no prodigy. I also have a really weird music collection and a fairly wide appreciation of music.
I feel like picking up another instrument but I hardly have the time or perseverence.

My dream is to learn the piano and maybe the guitar. Outside of that, listening is all I plan to do. I'll mail you tonight to request some clips. Perhaps you should put up a website where you throw out 30-second clips, and have a link to order a CD. I know that CNet's new music thingie (well, its not new, just no one knows of it outside CNet; as it isn't well advertised) is designed for unknown groups to find a calling online. Its too early to tell how successful this marketing is (ie career-wise), but its something to check out. music.cnet.com

Really? I live in Portland. Where did you guys play? Or was it in Seattle only?
I've been thinking about trying on this dusty accoustic I have but as I stated... somewhere (blinks) I don't have a teacher. Once I learned how to read the notes I could teach my self but....
OH! I have a book that I forgot about, that I need to relook through to see if it helps any, I think it may have had a note guide there with pictures and such.
On the website front I can help you, I know of some cheap hosts (5$-20$ a month depending on what you want) I could make it and such if you had a vague idea of what you want and images and such.
Woo Mopsy's ramble's.

I am completely broke, but If I ever get any money, I'll try them out.
In answer to earlofqb, that's not a bad idea. I'll have to consult the rest of the band, but not a bad idea.

There are a variety of free webhosts. Just google it or ask around (I'd give you some, but the ones I know don't offer free tools to build your site. ie, you'd have to know HTML and maybe PHP to use them).
