I am designing an industry quality rpg/strategy game for windows/DOS on qbasic.
Laugh if it makes you feel better. I'm going to prove it can be done. Qbasic has some very, VERY interesting advantages over C++ which I'm setting out to exploit. I have a dream, and I have a plan to realise it. The games being released by commercial companies right now are good, but they are not what WE want to play. I am going to make something on Qbasic that can compete with the giants. I am going to make something on a little platform that people can wonder 'how did they do it'?
This is a full-spare time thing for me. Fifteen hours a week. And thats on top of part time work and varsity. I'm looking at a finish date of May 1 2004. What I am looking for now is :
1) design people, to bounce ideas with me, to take an integral part in the development and concepts of this game.
2) Sound people, because I suck at it. You'll get full creative control, and a hell of a lot of respect from me *cough* credits *cough*
3) Graphics people, again because my drawings are good - but not good enough, and not as good as yours
4) Testers. Though not yet, I've only got a few thousand lines of code ;D
5) Programmers. You need AT LEAST a years qbasic programming experience, and I don't have a hell of a lot of positions available here. Let me know you're interested, and you will get a response.
You haven't heard of me before, I'm not active on the net, but as proof of my intentions and my commitment to this anyone who emails me will get an example of my previous work, as well as a response.
Applications close 1 May this year. Thats when I'm starting.. officially.. (hush) I've already started. Don't tell anyone.
Thanks all!
Graham
One last thing. No, you don't need to come to me. Thats one of the advantages.. tiny file size. Lots of room. If you apply, and I accept you, everything will be via email and the net.
