I am just starting to learn QBasic. I have written my first sample program and tried to print it. The printer didn't respond. I tried to print a WORD document and it worked. Any ideas?

Yes. QBasic is a DOS program. Under Windows NT/2000/XP, it runs in a virtual DOS environment called NTVDM (NT Virtual DOS Machine). This virtual DOS environment is not perfect; the most common problems are with printing and sound. www.dosprn.com/ is a utility to print stuff from DOS programs under Windows more reliably. Perhaps it'll help. You can also open your QB program in Notepad (the easiest way is to open notepad, and drag the .BAS file into it) and print from there. But this is the 21st century. Printing programs for hard copies is very rarely done except for legal purposes. You can also use the notepad method to copy your source code and, for instance, post it on this forum for us to look at and help you with, if you like. You're welcome to ask for help.

I copy and pasted the prgram to notepad and it worked. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I'm not going to try any of the other ideas at this time, because as you said, it's not really neccessary, but I just like to learn and work out everything I can. I don't like to pass over stuff and not learn. ;D
