Actually... I used to play around with Qbasic in the early 90s but I never got into any depth of the program. Could someone tell the following:
I want to generate frequencies (audio) with QB. Is it possible to this with QB or do I need another program? If I need another program, which one? I would like to create frequencies in the hundreds of GHz range.
Any info helps. Thanks.

This kind of thing isn't possible at all.
Firstly, high-end PC CPU clock speeds these days are just pushing the 3-4 GHz range. You can't directly get an output in 100s of GHz from a CPU.
Secondly, "audio"? Humans can hear between around 20 to 20,000 Hz. 1 GHz = 1,000,000,000 oscillations per second. Perhaps you made an error?
QB can use the internal PC speaker to produce frequencies from about 20 to 32000 Hz. The internal speaker isn't very good but suffices for simple applications. This is done with the SOUND command.
Accessing external speakers is harder, particularly on XP.
